Kid’s Summer Sun Art Fun!
Enjoy a one week long camp at Art League Houston! Each day students will be exposed to a new and
exciting medium. The various kids camp activities will include Chinese watercolor painting, clay crafts, cartoons, comics, mixed media madness, paper Mache masks, sculpture, pop-up books, origami, fabric art, painting, collage, drawing, monotype printing, and many more. At the end of camp students will exhibit their work for the student exhibition, and open house for parents. Students should bring a sack lunch each day if they are signed up for 2 camps, and wear comfortable clothing that is appropriate for art activities. Students will be provided with one snack each day during camp.

Exhibition & Open House for children will be held on:  Saturday, June 24th, 3pm-5pm

AGES 4-7
MIXED MEDIA MADNESS
June 12– June 16: Monday– Friday, 9:30am-12:30pm
$85 members/ $95 non-members (C-1)
This is an exploratory class, teaching children about the different materials that may be used in art. The children will be able to use chalk, paint, pastel, marker, glitter, watercolor, pencil, paper, and clay to complete their projects. Each day the children will learn of a new artist and what material they worked in, and discuss why they used it. Projects will be based on the artist of the day that they learned about, children will be greatly encouraged to explore many mediums in all projects. Call (713)523-9530 for more details.

AGES 4-7
AROUND THE WORLD IN 5 DAYS
June 12– June 16: Monday—Friday, 1pm-4pm
$85 members/ $95 non-members (C-2)
Each class the students will study a different country, including their cultures, traditions, and a particular craft native to that geographic area. This class will be completing projects like hanging Japanese koi fish, African masks, Chinese brush painting, and basket weaving. Call (713)523-9530 for more details.

AGES 8-11
COMIC CREATIONS
June 19– June 23: Monday– Friday, 9:30am– 12:30pm
$85 members/ $95 non-members (C-3)
The imaginary world of comic book creations! This week long camp will focus all projects on imaginary creations, learning to make their own comics, cartoons, 3-D clay creations, and small scale paper sculpture, bringing their ideas to reality in many mediums. Call (713)523-9530 for more details.

AGES 8-11
PAINTING & DRAWING
June 19– June 23: Monday– Friday, 1pm-4pm
$85 members/ $95 non-members (C-4)
This class is geared towards students that would like to explore many painting and drawing mediums. In class students will be given the opportunity to work with acrylics, pastels, charcoal, conte, and watercolor. Each class will study a well-known artist, the medium they work in, as well as their life as an artist. Students will then be encouraged to work different mediums in their personal artwork.
