Each week we’ll focus on a new topic of mechanism to produce motion, while working towards working samples and eventually a finished “flying figure” project. This class is equally intended for the individual that has never stepped into a workshop to the seasoned maker. EGG TEMPERA AND ENCAUSTIC PAINTING (MM-1)
305.00

Sasha Dela
All Levels
Monday mornings, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM
July 10 - August 14
6 weeks

This course will allow students to experiment with the beautiful and less common painting mediums egg tempera and encaustic. Egg Tempera paint is made from combining egg whites and colored pigment using a specific painting ground. It allows for the building up of transparent layers to create a very luminous surface. Encaustic is made with beeswax and pigment and heat is used in the process of mixing and applying paint. Many surprises occur while heating the paint on panel. Students may experiment with the new techniques in their own style. Clear instructions for making and using the paints will be given so at-home setup will be possible after taking the course. Safety will be discussed through out the workshop.
Please note: enrollment for this course is limited to 10 students.
