This course critically engages contemporary image-making by experimenting with various media, including drawing, collage, photography, and painting. Over the course of 9 weeks, the class will survey a wide range of drawing techniques and apply them to ideas about space, composition, color, mark, concept and narrative. The goal of this course is to create work that demonstrates skill in various mediums, and a rudimentary understanding of what makes a compelling image. In addition to practical sessions in the studio, the class will also be exposed to films and documentaries that help re-enforce ideas discussed in class. Please note: enrollment for this course is limited to 10 students
