This course is a continuation of "Landscape into Art," but with an emphasis on composing a painting from a non-representational or abstract rather than imitative or purely representational basis. There will be plenty of latitude to continue the methods already undertaken in the previous landscape classes as well. The instructor will demonstrate and discuss these approaches as used by current and past masters. This class is being offered for all levels, however, students are expected basic knowledge of drawing and composition. Among all levels, beginners will be encouraged to draw. The primary medium is oil, however, acrylic and water-based oil paint is accepted. Please note: enrollment for this course is limited to 10 students.
