Explore relationships between color, form, texture, space and composition by painting from a series of contemporary still life set-ups. This experimental studio-based class will develop your confidence in acrylic painting by improving skills of immediacy by spontaneously drawing with the brush and blocking in tonal values. Emphasis will be placed on color mixing, color contrast and preparing textures using a variety of everyday tools. We will also explore combining different acrylic mediums, gels and pastes into pure color to investigate glaze application and dimensional surfaces. Class is suitable for beginner and intermediate level.
